Country Coach Friends Incorporated (CCFI) recently had an RV Rally and the sponsored charity was us, VADogs. A whopping $18,294 was raised and all proceeds were presented to Steve Volkman, Executive Director, Isaac Carpenter Project Manager and his service dog Gunner and Larry Pottridge, Director of Development of VADogs.
Steve Volkman provided a presentation to the club members at their first dinner to kick off the rally. We then held an open house for members of CCFI to visit our Veteran/Dog Training Campus. Present was Steve Volkman, Larry Pottridge, Isaac Carpenter and his service dog, Gunner, Craig Brumley and his service dog, Corey and Charles Borton and his service dog, Barney.
CCFI is an RV Club which is an International Chapter of the Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA). For those RV enthusiasts CCFI is one of the fastest growing chapters of FMCA. Three of their officers, Jerry O’Connor, Larry Carrell and Nicky Smith live at Buckhorn Lake Resort where the rally was held. They, along with David Twilley, a club member and also a resident of Buckhorn Lake Resort, were instrumental in making their most recent rally a huge success. CCFI plans RV events across the nation which nurture friendship and fun. Check out their website www.CountryCoachFriendsIncorporated.com. Since their inception, they have raised over $150,000 for non-profit organizations like VADogs.
CCFI has helped VADogs in the past by raising $23,000 in the fall of 2015 and $18,000 in the spring of 2016. VADogs recently completed the building of a veteran/service dog training campus located at 601 N Spur 100 here in Kerrville. The campus will be used to provide temporary short term housing for those veterans completing the final phase of training enabling them to become a certified team.
If in the area drop in to visit our campus and hear what we have to say about helping those that keep us safe and protect our freedom.
