Applications Are Currently Paused

Important Update for Veterans (as of 08/30/2026)

Veterans Assistance Dogs of Texas is temporarily pausing the acceptance of new Veteran applications due to the significant number of Veterans currently awaiting service dogs.

Our growing waiting list reflects the tremendous and urgent need for trained service dogs within the disabled Veteran community.

At this time, we are not accepting new Veteran applications.

Our ability to rescue, train, and place service dogs with disabled Veterans depends directly on the funding we receive. Increased financial support would allow us to train and place more dogs, serve Veterans sooner, and reduce the current waiting list.

We do not currently have a projected date for when applications will reopen. We will provide an update as soon as we are able to resume accepting new applications.

We understand that this may be disappointing for Veterans seeking a service dog, and we appreciate your understanding as we work to serve the Veterans currently waiting.
